England Hockey have been made aware of fraudulent activity targeting clubs.
A club membership form has been taken from Old Silhillians’ Hockey Club website, the bank details amended to divert the money to the fraudster and they have then forged the signatures and bank details of at least two other clubs in an attempt to extract money. Old Silhillians are an innocent party to this and have taken the standing order form down from their website but we urge all our clubs to carefully check direct debits and standing orders set up on their account. We would also advise that those clubs whose bank details are publicly visible ensure that this information is only accessible by club members.

Although this is currently a concern of England Hockey, this is also a warning to beware of unscrupulous fraudsters who are on the look out for opportunities to exploit!
