‘Metro Bank’ One Day Cup League Two  – (match 15)

  • +1

Middlesex (women) vs Worcestershire Rapids (women) -match 15, L2 – at Radlett, Cricket Club (Brunton Memorial Ground, Middx) on Sunday, 10 May 2026

Middlesex women – pictured kept their unbeaten record, having won every group-stage match since the competition started last year. Last year, Middx beat Rapids by a similarly wide margin, in a match affected by adverse weather. Batting first, ‘two-thirds 194/293 of all deliveries were unplayable ‘dot’ balls, resulting in Rapids women’s ‘frustration’ as unable to ‘kick-on’ (with scoring runs.) Dutch international Sanya Khurana [42 runs (from 34 balls)] was the only Rapids batter to break the deadlock by scoring ’six.’ Middlesex women’s reply was described by Rapids’ skipper Clare Boycott as ‘clinical’ with top-scorer Pippa Sproul 73(86) staging a century second-wicket partnership with Georgia Irving 70*not out (93). Georgia Irving added another 84 runs when partnered by skipper Saskia Horley 56(40): who scored two ’sixes.’ Georgia Irving also hit the winning ‘four.’ Weather: grey cloud cover with ‘blustery’ windchill 10C.
