Barclays WSL Player, Manager and Goal of the month awards

The winners of the Barclays Women’s Super League awards for November have now been confirmed.

Voted for by a combination of the public and a panel of experts, the successful individuals for the past month are as follows.

Firstly, Chelsea’s Guro Reiten has been named as Player of the Month after an impressive November for the Blues.

The winger was on the scoresheet in every match she played last month as the Norwegian helped propel Chelsea to the top of the Barclays WSL, finding the back of the net in their wins over Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Reiten saw off competition from Steph Catley, Katrina Gorry, Anna Patten, Mayra Ramirez, Alessia Russo and Khadija Shaw to take the award.

Sonia Bompastor meanwhile made it a double-award win for the London outfit by securing her second Manager of the Month accolade of the season, having previously taken the gong in September.

Her side opened up a five-point lead at the top of the table with impressive displays throughout November as they won four consecutive games, scoring 11 goals and conceding none.

Bompastor saw off the challenge of Arsenal’s interim Head Coach, Renee Slegers, and Brighton’s Dario Vidošić, to add another trophy to her mantlepiece.

Finally, Frida Maanum’s strike for Arsenal against Brighton & Hove Albion was voted as Goal of the Month for November.

A strong collection of efforts from Jess Park, Alessia Russo, Mayra Ramirez, Guro Reiten, Annabel Blanchard and Ebony Salmon had been in contention alongside Maanum, but her goal in the Gunners’ 5-0 win over the Seagulls came out on top in the voting polls.
