Harlequins name side to play DMP Sharks

  • +1

Harlequins Women’s Head Coach Amy Turner has named her side to travel to DMP Sharks on Saturday. Turner makes seven changes from last week’s side that fell short against Gloucester-Hartpury at The Stoop, as Quins look to re-build momentum going into the second half of the season.

The front row remains unchanged, with Amy Cokayne captaining the side from hooker in the absence of Rachael Burford who had surgery earlier this week. Wallaroo Kaitlan Leaney comes into the second row alongside Red Rose Rosie Galligan to bolster Harlequins’ lineout options.

Wallaroo Emily Chancellor and French number eight Lenaig Corson earn their first starts for the Club alongside Katy Mew in a new look back row.

Emma Swords and Bella McKenzie return to the starting XV as half backs, a partnership that promises high tempo and attacking flair, and one that’ll look to bring Harlequins’ explosive outside backs into the game.

Beth Blacklock makes her first start of the Allianz Premier 15s season at inside centre, as Lagi Tuima shifts to 13. Belgium Sevens flyer Ella Amory starts on the right wing in a back three that will no doubt light up the Echo Arena, as England internationals Abby Dow and Ellie Kildunne retain their places at left wing and fullback respectively.

Amy Turner said: “We’re excited to see Lenaig (Corson) and Emily (Chancellor) make their first starts for the Club. They’ve both brought real energy and experience to this squad since joining, and along with Katy (Mew) complete a dynamic back row.

“We’ve had a good week’s preparation and we’re looking forward to making the trip up to Darlington on Saturday, this fixture is important for us as we enter the second half of the season.”
