Worcester Valkyries trio Cara Clarke, Cara Brincat and Victoria Laflin helped England Women Under 18 Sevens win the Rugby Europe Under 18 Championship in Vichy, France last weekend.

Facing Wales in the final, who they beat in their opening pool game of the tournament, England delivered a dominant display to win 31-0.

Earlier in the day, England met the Netherlands in the quarter-final of the Cup earning a 31-5 victory after controlling possession and scoring five tries in quick succession in the first-half of the game.

Netherlands responded with a late try in the second-half, however England proved too strong and advanced to the last four.

France were up next in the cup semi-final. Scoring three tries and with some impressive defending, France were unable to cross the line, leaving England to march into the final with a 17-0 win.

James Cooper, RFU Pathway Officer and England Women Under 18s Sevens Lead Coach, said: “It’s a fantastic achievement for the team to come away as champions. To be part of a tournament of this nature gives the players invaluable playing experience.

“They worked hard for each other on the pitch and delivered consistent performances across the weekend, we couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved.”
