On Sunday in the Women’s Super League Thatto Heath St Helens hosted Featherstone Rovers ladies and the away side battled hard to earn a 14-24 win.
Featherstone’s Kayleigh Bulman scored twice, with further tries for Jasmine Hazel, Andrea Dobson and Emma Slowe. Rhiannon Marshall added two goals. Thatto’s tries were scored by Alex Simpson, Katie Williams and Rebecca Rotherham with Tara Stanley adding one goal.
The other Super League game saw another away victory with Bradford Bulls travelling to Castleford Tigers and carding a 60-12 win.
Bradford’s Charlotte Booth, Jess Courtman and Amy Hardcastle all scored twice each, with further tries from Charlene Henegan, Savannah Andrede and Beth Sutcliffe. Claire Garner completed the scoring for Bradford with eight goals. Castleford’s tries were scored by Lucy Eastwood, Maisie Birdsall and Kelly Beckett.
In the Women’s Championship Wigan St Patricks hosted Wakefield Trinity and the home side impressed to earn a 44-4 win.
Wigan’s Kelsey Armistead led the way with a hat-rick of tries with Rachel Porter scoring two. Further tries for Wigan were scored by Armani Sharrock, Joenie Aspin and Holly Speakman. Charlotte Foley added five goals and Joenie Aspin scored one. Wakefield’s try was scored by Yasmin Copeland.
