On Sunday in the Women’s Challenge Cup Featherstone Rovers hosted Leigh Miners Rangers and the home side dominated throughout with a 50-4 victory to progress to the next round.
Featherstone’s Manina Spurr topped the try scorers for the afternoon with an impressive four tries and Kayleigh Bulman scored two. There were further tries for Nat Harrowell, Brogan Chrum, Jess Hammond and Megan Davies. Lauren Roberts added four goals and Grace Field kicked one to complete the scoring.
Oulton Raidettes hosted Thatto Heath St Helens and it was Thatto who emerged with a 30-6 win.
Thatto’s Faye Gaskin scored three tries and Rachel Thompson scored twice. Chantelle Crowl and Carys Marsh both scored once with Faye Gaskin also adding one goal to her tally.
In the Women’s Challenge Shield East Leeds RL Academy were at home to Whitley Bay Barbarians and Whitley Bay impressed to card a 48-0 win.
Also in the Challenge Shield Army RL Ladies travelled to Wakefield Trinity Ladies, and the away team emerged with a 36-0 win.
