The rugby league community came together on Sunday following the tragic loss of young Wigan St Pats player Danielle Birchmore who died on New Year’s Eve.
Always a close knit community, all teams in the league rallied round and donated their raffle takings; officials donated their fees; Stanningley managed to raise £195 while other teams are making donations, all money raised will go to Danielle’s family.
The Huddersfield side also looked to the welfare of the Wigan side who were understandably shocked and upset.
The generosity shown both materially and in compassion has been amazing.
