Barrow Ladies would just like to play!

  • +1

Barrow Ladies RFLC  are a new rugby league team playing in the Merit League, they have the players, the coaches, the ground, kit, sponsorship – now they would like to play!

The team have been in training for months and are formed of players who are mostly new to the game, but they have come together and really enjoy their training.

The club have also got a very hard working committee who have been able to get a grant for kit, training etc and they have been lucky enough to get the support of local businesses that have come on board with sponsorship.

Everything good so far, the ground work is done, the backing in in place but 3 out of 4 of the games they should have played have been called off, mostly because other teams were unable to get a team together on game day.  All very disappointing for a new team eager to improve.

(Last weekend’s Merit League fixtures showed a similar tale with just one game taking place and the other three postponed.)

Barrow Ladies are based at ARLFC, Barrow Island, Barrow in Furness, Cumbria.

All they want to do is play – they would love a home game but are prepared to travel if they can find an opponent.
