Women’s Weekly Round up 12th June – by Rebecca Bird
On Sunday the second round of the Women’s Challenge Cup and Women’s Challenge Shield took place.
In the cup competition Oulton Raidettes hosted Bradford Bulls Ladies it was the travelling side who won 48-4.
Bradford’s Rhiannon Marshall and Ashlea Prescott both scored two tries each, there were further tries for Charlotte Booth, Dani Bose, Lois Forsell and Shona Hoyle. Bradford’s Lisa Taylor also added six goals with Rhiannon Marshall adding two.
Oulton’s try was scored by Raegan Walker.
Wigan St Patricks welcomed Leigh Miners Rangers and again it was the away side who won out, this time with a 22-6 win.
There was another away win for Thatto Heath St Helens as they travelled to Featherstone Rovers and earned a 36-10 victory.
In the first round of the Challenge Shield, Whitley Bay Barbarians hosted Brighouse Rangers and the home side won out 38-0.
Whitley Bay’s Zoe Hornby scored four tries and added four conversions, Nesha Wood scored two tries and Phillipa Serinbiekoff also scored one try.
