The RFU is to introduce women’s full-time 15s contracts this season underlining its commitment to the long-term growth of women’s rugby. Following its meeting on Wednesday, the RFU Board supported the proposal to introduce women’s contracts for the 15-aside game. There will be 28 full-time contracts available to England Women, which will come into effect
England Rugby has awarded 17 women’s sevens contracts for the upcoming 2018/19 season. The women’s squad will move from its present base at Bisham Abbey to join the men’s set-up at The Lensbury in Teddington from 1 September. This will provide both the men’s and women’s squads the opportunity to share facilities and best practice.
