Aitana Bonmatí and Ousmane Dembélé win 2025 Ballon d’Or awards

On Monday 22 September 2025, the 69th edition of the Ballon d’Or® took place on the stage of the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. The ceremony was hosted by Kate Scott and Ruud Gullit, directed by Tristan Carné and co-produced by High Scream, ITV Studios France and Auditoire.

Winners were revealed in front of a prestigious audience that included S.A.S. Princess Charlène of Monaco, Ronaldinho, Andrés Iniesta, Mary Earps, Gianluigi Buffon, Luís Figo, Raphaël Varane and many others.

The Men’s Ballon d’Or®, elected by 100 journalists specialized in men’s football from the top 100 countries in the FIFA Men’s World Ranking, was awarded to Ousmane Dembélé (France, Paris Saint-Germain).

The Women’s Ballon d’Or®, elected by 50 journalists specialized in women’s football from the top 50 countries in the FIFA Women’s World Ranking, was awarded to Aitana Bonmatí (Spain, FC Barcelona).

The Kopa Trophy (Men), which rewards the best young player under the age of 21, elected by former Ballon d’Or® winners, was awarded to Lamine Yamal (Spain, FC Barcelona). The Kopa Trophy (Women), which rewards the best young player under the age of 21, elected by women players who previously finished on the Ballon d’Or® Women’s podium, was awarded to Vicky López (Spain, FC Barcelona).

The Yashin Trophy (Men), which rewards the best goalkeeper, elected by the same 100 journalists who voted for the Men’s Ballon d’Or®, was awarded to Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy, Paris Saint-Germain/ Manchester City FC). The Yashin Trophy (Women), which rewards the best goalkeeper, elected by the same 50 journalists who voted for the Women’s Ballon d’Or®, was awarded to Hannah Hampton (England, Chelsea FC).

The Gerd Müller Trophy (Men), which rewards the top goal scorer in both club and international competitions, was awarded to Viktor Gyökeres (Sweden, Sporting Clube de Portugal/Arsenal FC). The Gerd Müller Trophy (Women), which rewards the top goal scorer in both club and international competitions, was awarded to Ewa Pajor (Poland, FC Barcelona).

The Johan Cruyff Trophy (Men), which rewards the best coach at club or national level, elected by the same jury as the Men’s the Ballon d’Or®, was awarded to Luis Enrique (Spain, Paris Saint-Germain). The Johan Cruyff Trophy (Women), which rewards the best coach (man or woman) at club or national level, elected by the same jury as the Women’s Ballon d’Or®, was awarded to Sarina Wiegman (Netherlands, England National Team).

The Men’s Club of the Year Award, elected by the same jury as the Men’s Ballon d’Or®, was awarded to Paris Saint-Germain. The Women’s Club of the Year Award, elected by the same jury as the Women’s Ballon d’Or®, was awarded to Arsenal FC.

The Sócrates Award, from the L’Équipe Group and Peace and Sport, which rewards solidarity actions or societal causes carried out by a committed champion, was awarded to Fundación Xana.
