Harlequins have confirmed that Spanish international Claudia Pena has signed a new deal to remain in West London.
The Las Leonas star was a revelation during her first season in the Quarters and has continued to excel during her second season, being nominated for the PWR Player of the Season Award, after scoring 47 points in 16 appearances, including 3 tries.
On the international scene, Pena shone during the 2025 Rugby World Cup and has since captained Spain to a Rugby Europe Championship title.
Pena’s guile in attack and physicality in defence have quickly made her a fan favourite at The Stoop, with a series of stunning individual performances and moments in matches, both at home and away.
A hugely popular member of the playing squad, Pena is a player who continues to excel and develop. Still just 21 years old, she has already firmly put a marker down as one of the best players in the league and brightest young talents in the game.
Speaking about her decision to commit to Harlequins, Pena praised the team environment at the Club as a key reason behind her decision.
“Harlequins is like a family. We have support from the staff, the squad and the amazing amount of people who support us in England and around the world. It’s an amazing feeling and I believe we are going to do great things with that support we have. Next year is going to be another year of improvement and I’m excited for people coming to see us play.”
Head Coach Ross Chisholm is also delighted to see Pena sign a new deal in TW2.
“Claudia is a player who has consistently impressed in her first two seasons at Harlequins. She has shown her ability both in attack and defence and become a key player in our backline.”
“This season, she has been hugely impressive, and I believe that she can still take her game to another level, which is hugely exciting. For such a young player, she is incredibly composed in everything she does, and I’m thrilled that she will be remaining in the Quarters.”
With thanks to Harlequins
