Four players to leave Lightning at the end of the season

Loughborough Lightning can confirm that four more players have left the club upon the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.

Georgina Tasker, Chloe Rollie, Sara Svoboda and Maja Meuller will be moving on to pastures new ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Fullback/winger Tasker made her Lightning debut against Saracens in April 2021 and made 51 appearances, scoring 10 tries.

Scotland international fullback Rollie made her first of 16 Lightning appearances against DMP Sharks in January 2023 and scored five tries, including a brace in her final outing against Saracens.

Canada international forward Svoboda clocked up 40 appearances after debuting against Sale Sharks in October 2020 and scored five tries during her time in African Violet.

Hooker Meuller also joined in 2020 and made 48 Lightning appearances scoring 11 tries. During her time with the Club she also added to her international caps for Sweden in both 15s and 7s.

Lightning head coach Nathan Smith said: “I would like to thank Georgina, Chloe, Sara and Maja for their contribution to Lightning and wish them luck with the next chapters of their careers.”

The quartet follow Katie Trevarthen, Jenny Maxwell, Jess Weaver, Sally Williams, Carys Williams-Morris and Emma Hardy, whose departures have previously been announced.

Meanwhile, Lightning have signed internationals Alev Kelter and Alicia Maude as well as announcing multiple contract extensions for the likes of Sadia Kabeya, Rachel Malcolm and Cath O’Donnell. More announcements are set to follow in the coming weeks.
