Women’s Championship End of Season Award Winners

The Women‘s Professional Game has announced the End of Season award winners for the Barclays Women’s Championship.

An award voted for by a combination of the public and a panel of experts, Sunderland’s Claudia Moan came out on top in the Player of the Season rankings, beating Crystal Palace’s Elise Hughes, Sheffield United’s Isobel Goodwin and Southampton’s Katie Wilkinson to the accolade.

Keeping 10 clean sheets in 22 league outings, the shot-stopper also scooped the Golden Glove award on the final day of the season.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace’s Araya Dennis – who spent the campaign on dual registration with the Eagles from Tottenham Hotspur – saw her effort against Charlton Athletic voted as Goal of the Season.

This success marked a duo of awards for Palace, with Elise Hughes securing the Golden Boot courtesy of her 16 goals in 21 games for Laura Kaminski’s side.

Finally, London City Lionesses keeper Grace Moloney’s spectacular stop against Sheffield Unitedwas voted as the Barclays Women’s Championship’s Save of the Season.
