JustWatch launches streaming guide for sports

  • +1

Where can I watch my team tonight? This is the increasingly common question for many sports fans as broadcasting rights become ever more fragmented.
● JustWatch Sports will help sports fans find out where they can watch football and Formula 1 in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
● Throughout 2022, JustWatch will add more sports, leagues, and tournaments, allowing users to track and follow teams and will expand its offering to many more countries.

It’s 5 minutes before kickoff. Your team is playing and you don’t know where you can watch it. This is becoming the annoying norm for many sports fans, as the broadcasting rights are ever more fragmented. You can watch one game on free TV, another on cable or pay TV and more and more games are exclusively on yet another streaming service.

This means sports fans are often frantically searching for where they can watch the game tonight, as there might be three different options they need to check and subscribe to the same competition.

JustWatch Sports is the answer to this growing problem. Sports fans can easily find out when and where to legally watch their favourite team. JustWatch will cover streaming services and linear TV
offerings to be the most comprehensive guide for watching live sports as well as any highlights shows.

“The increasing fragmentation of sports rights led to a huge problem for sports fans over the last years. JustWatch’s mission is to help fans to navigate the sports streaming jungle. We think the time is more than ripe in 2022 to start JustWatch Sports.” says David Croyé, Founder and CEO of JustWatch.

JustWatch Sports will be launched as a Beta Version in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.

JustWatch plans to launch sports in the US and the next ten biggest markets by the end of 2022 and will cover over 100 markets in the next couple of years.

From launch Just Watch Sports will cover:

● Football (Bundesliga, Premier League, Serie A, LaLiga, Ligue 1, Euro Women 2022 and many more)
● Formula 1

The listed sports at launch are just the beginning as the coverage of sports will increase to all major European and US sports over the next months. There are also many personalisation features already in the works. Including tracking and following your favourite teams, tournaments, or players and getting notified before a game starts, as well as a good overview of recaps and highlights.
