Harlequins Women are delighted to announce the signing of flanker Amelia Harper from Loughborough Lightning just days before the Club’s Round two Allianz Premier 15s fixture away at Worcester Warriors.

Despite only being 21 years old, Harper has already featured four times for the Red Roses as she received her maiden international call up prior to the 2020 Women’s Six Nations. The back row made her senior debut in Pau, she was introduced for the final 19 minutes as England ran out 13-19 victors.

Harper is thrilled to join the reigning Champions and can’t wait to play in the Famous Quarters as the squad look to retain their Allianz Premier 15s title.

The flanker said: “I am really excited to be joining Harlequins Women for the 21/22 season! They have a great programme here with a talented group of players and with the great coaching I am looking forward to developing my game and trying to become the best player I can be.”

Harlequins Women Head Coach Gerard Mullen is pleased to have Harper on board as the 21/22 season gets into full swing.

“Amelia is a young player with a huge amount of talent and has had opportunities with the Red Roses before. I’m confident we can develop her game here at Quins with the support we can offer her. She’s settled in really well and there’s no doubt she will be an important player for us this season.”
