Harlequins Women have announced that number eight Jade Konkel has re-joined the Club following the culmination of her firefighter training.

Over the last three seasons the Scotland international has established herself as a mainstay in the Quins pack, featuring 23 times in the Famous Quarters.

Konkel will be looking to add more firepower to the already fierce Quins forward pack as the squad look to retain their Allianz Premier 15s title.

Having sealed her return to Quins, Konkel said: “I’m delighted to re-sign with such an incredibly supportive club like Harlequins. They really value a personal approach and I’m grateful for all the help and support the Club have given me over the last few years. I’m excited to be involved in many more special memories!”

Head Coach Gerard Mullen also commented: “It’s fantastic for Harlequins to have Jade back ahead of the 2021/22 Allianz Premier 15s season.

“She has been a part of the Club for many years and I am delighted to be able to welcome her back into the squad! Jade is a world class operator and has been one of the best players in the league for a while now so we’re over the moon to have her back.

“Off the field she is a tremendous leader and has a wealth of experience which I hope she can pass onto the rest of the team.”
