Harlequins name team to play Loughborough

  • +1

Gerard Mullen has named his side to take on fellow high-flyers Loughborough Lightning, with both sides looking to extend their unbeaten start in the Allianz Premier 15s.

Following the final round of the Women’s Six Nations, all seven of the Club’s grand slam winners are named in the XV, with Scotland internationals Jade Konkel and Chloe Rollie also returning to the side.

Red Roses scrum-half Leanne Riley makes her first start of the season, and Alex Eddie, named amongst the Game Changers, returns to a matchday squad for the first time since 2018 after a long injury lay-off.

Ahead of the trip to Loughborough, Mullen said: “It’s definitely our toughest test of the season. They have got a very strong and powerful squad and we will probably have to produce our best performance yet to come out on top.”

On Eddie’s return, Mullen said: “It’s fantastic for Alex. She’s been training really well and deserves the opportunity. The squad have been right behind her this week, and we’re all looking forward to seeing her get back playing.”
