Junior Team Bath Tennis duo Izzie Britton and Luke Hooper were both victorious when they competed in the national finals of the 2020 Fred Perry Championship over the weekend.
Their prize – for victory in the U12 Girls and U14 Boys events respectively – was a year’s clothing supply from Fred Perry and a tennis grant to help them continue to train, compete and develop over the next 12 months.
The youth tennis tournament, now in its second year, saw some of the quarter- and semi-final matches take place at Pitshanger Park in London before the trophies were decided at Brentham Club, where legendary ten-time Grand Slam champion Perry first learnt to play a century ago.
Britton, who is a student at Prior Park College in Bath, beat Annabel Hristova 6-3 7-6(8) in her final, while Hooper lost just 12 games across three matches on his way to clinching the U14 Boys title with a 7-5 6-0 win over Conor Flynn.
Both Britton and Hooper are Avon County players and train full-time with Team Bath Tennis. Find out more about Team Bath Tennis by visiting www.teambath.com/tennis.
