Kayleigh Green is back as a Green

Following her loan period in Italy, Kayleigh Green has returned to Yeovil for the fast approaching winter season.
Green signed for A.S.D Calico Femminile Chieti, after helping guide the Lady Glovers to their WSL2 championship winning season in 2016 and spent the whole of Spring away from Yeovil.
A welsh international with over 20 senior caps, Green can play either as a centre back or a centre forward. It was in the centre forward position, that Green headed in the crucial goal away at The Hive, back in October 2016, scoring the opener to help secure promotion against London Bees.
With the fixture release for the new season put back until today (Monday 7th August), Green along with her team mates will be keen to see who is up first, as they begin life in the top tier of English football.
Speaking about her return Green said “I am excited to be back playing for Yeovil. My dream has always been to play at the highest level, and I have that chance here.
“It’s going to be a difficult challenge this season competing with some of the best teams in women’s football but I’m really excited to get started.
“We have signed some quality players which has made our squad stronger and I’m looking forward to starting the campaign in WSL1 and enjoying the upcoming season with Yeovil”
Manager Jamie Sherwood was equally excited saying “It was always our intention to bring Kayleigh back to the club after her loan agreement had ended.
“We felt it was an opportunity for Kayleigh to experience a different culture, environment and way of playing, which would benefit her development and in turn we would gain an improved player.
“Since her return, her enthusiasm, energy and detail that she wants from herself and her team mates has been excellent. Her energy, determination and experience will be crucial for us as a young vibrant squad who want to emerge from this season delivering the targets that we will set out in the pre season period.
“It’s great to see Kayleigh back and her versatile ability allows us to create depth within the squad.”
