Women’s Weekly Round up 9th July

In the one Premier Division game this weekend in the Women’s League Wigan St Patricks hosted Barrow Ladies and the home side impressed throughout to earn a 62-0 win.

Wigan’s Becky Greenfield and Holly Speakman both scored three tries each with Sarah Harrison scoring two. There were further tries for Robyn Birchall, Joenie Aspin, Armani Sharrock and Jess Hopkins with Joenie Aspin further adding to her tally with eight goals.

Joenie Aspin earned the player of the match award for Wigan and for Barrow, who battled hard throughout the award went to Bethany Lindsay.

Meanwhile in the Merit League Thatto Heath St Helens Reserves were too strong for the Lindley Swift Ladies winning by 38-4 and in the Yorkshire County Cup match on Wednesday Castleford Tigers Ladies beat the young Bulldogs by 58-0.
