Worcester Valkyries forward Shona Powell-Hughes has picked up December’s Worcestershire County Council Player of the Month award.
The Welsh international thoroughly impressed in her two Women’s Premiership appearances against Bristol Ladies Rugby and Saracens Women last month, and has since been called up to the Wales squad for this Sunday’s game against Ireland in Dublin.
Valkyries Director of Rugby Donna Kennedy said: “Shona has brought power and pace to our game which is allowing us to get good dynamic ball to play from.
“You know that when Shona gets the ball she will also make good hard yards and she is definitely deserving of this award.”
