Bristol Ladies 2nd XV inflict crushing defeat on London Welsh

Bristol Ladies 2nd XV secured a comprehensive win at the Old Deer Park, defeating London Welsh 73 points to nil. 

Vicky Foxwell opened the scoring after only six minutes, intercepting a pass and running through to score under the posts. Carrie Roberts scored her first try of the afternoon speeding around her opposite number out on the wing, going onto a complete a hat-trick in the first half.

Gracie Hood scored for the second weekend in a row, as she outsprinted the London Welsh defence, with Foxwell converting all five tries to give Bristol a lead of 35-0 at half time.

The second half started in a similar fashion to the first with an early score. Nat Lewis broke through the defensive line with a strong run from just within the opposition half offloading to Captain Trish who touched down. Ten minutes later, Foxwell scored her second of the afternoon after some good handling and use of space.

A series of long range tries from Daisy Travers and Rownita Marston followed as the game progressed, with  Marston followed up her first try with another superb solo effort, powering into space and evading the London Welsh defenders.

On her debut for Bristol Ladies, Philippa Proud completed the scoring out on the wing.

This was a superb team effort and result against a team that were able to contain Bristol for periods of the game. Carrie Roberts was Back of the match for her hat-trick and superb work out on the wing and Jessie Hood was forward of the Match for her superb ball-carrying and work at the breakdown.
