Gilbert announce sponsorship deal with Loughborough

Gilbert have announced that they have become Loughborough Sport’s official ball supplier for 2017/18. Gilbert are thrilled that Loughborough Sport have chosen to use Gilbert balls in both Netball and Rugby, and have stated that it is testament to the performance of its unrivalled ball engineering and design.

Through the Netball partnership Gilbert will be working alongside Loughborough Lightning in research and development, whilst assisting to enhance players’ performances through the use of the world’s number one netball ball and associated products. Loughborough Lightning are a major force in the Vitality Netball Superleague and Gilbert are very proud to be associated with such a team and their leading players.

Of the deal, Loughborough Sport’s Commercial Director Jo Simpson said: “We’re delighted to join forces with Gilbert who share similar values to ourselves and will provide bespoke sporting goods for our rugby and netball teams. This is a unique deal, supporting both student and franchise teams, and we welcome Gilbert to the Loughborough family.”

Loughborough Lightning Netball Head Coach Karen Atkinson added: “It is extremely exciting for Loughborough Lightning to be associated with a high calibre netball brand such as Gilbert.  The quality of their equipment, particularly their netball balls, is unrivalled and we look forward to using them in our preparation for the 2017 season and beyond. Gilbert are a forward thinking company who are investing heavily in women’s sport and netball in particular, and it is a privilege to be entering into a partnership with them as netball and the Superleague moves into this new era.”
