Doncaster Rovers Belles have announced that Rhiannon Roberts has signed a professional deal with the club.
Wales international, Rhiannon Roberts has bolstered the Belles’ backline by becoming the latest player to sign a full-time contract with the club.
The 25-year-old has proved to be an integral part of Glen Harris’s defence, putting her body on the line throughout the successful 2015 campaign to help her team gain promotion into FA WSL 1.
Roberts’ stoic presence in the heart of the Belles defence and her consistently solid form also led to international recognition with the defender featuring in Jayne Ludlow’s Welsh side during their Euro 2017 qualifying campaign.
On Roberts signing professional terms, Harris said: “This is a significant signing for Belles. ‘Razza’ has been a mainstay of our defence for the past two years and has developed well to achieve international recognition for Wales last season.
“We have only had her training one night per week previously (due to work commitments), but now she’ll be training full-time so it will be exciting to see just how far she can progress.”
