The start of the second half saw Chambers introduce Bianca Bragg to replace Helen Ward who had taken a knock in the first 10 minutes.
The Belles had another chance from Sweetman-Kirk go wide of Grace Moloneys upright, but the Royals were starting to push on more now.
On the 53rd minute Lauren Bruton was played in down the middle, lobbing the on-rushing Nicola Hobbs then heading the ball past Rhiannon Roberts who was now guarding the line.
Barker again cleared off the line to keep the scoreline at 1-0.
Next came the second moment of magic from the Royals as on 61 minutes Bianca Bragg broke into the Belles Half and from fully 40 yards out, having seen Hobbs off her line, unleashed a sweetly struck volley that flew over the retreating Hobbs and into the roof of the net.
Ten minutes later, Bragg was on the attack again and played the ball into the box from the Reading right only for the ball to strike Leandra Little’s hand and referee Jane Simms pointed straight to the spot.
