The only logical place (at the moment) from a competitive perspective would be a tour to Canada or matches against France. However, just as with the crowds at WXV2 in SA, the crowds in Canada weren't large enough; would there be any attraction to playing in France? It might not have the long haul magic of the men's tours, but it would provide meaningful competition

Jennie Powell. 26 Jun 2025

That's a lovely idea - I'll mail you the pattern.

Mrs Susan Niven. 26 Jun 2025

Please could i have a knitting pattern for the Red Rose as i cant crochet.my granddaughter plays rugby for the under 16's at Exeter and i would like to knit some for her

Ann Marie Hayes. 11 May 2025

Both my granddaughter and grandson play football, they would appreciate one of your balls .They cost my daughter a small fortune in replacement balls due to punctures.

Bruce Perkins. 22 Apr 2025

Ha! 8 Kent players playing for Surrey! How much did the Oval pay Canterbury for all those hours of coaching and development? And Kent has always led the way in women's cricket, till it was guillotined by the ECB.

Roger Easthope. 20 Mar 2025

Yes, this is a squad with great depth. It will be interesting to see what team Mitchell selects for the Italy game on Sunday. If he chooses to leave out all the Gloucester and Saracens players he could still put out an incredibly strong and talented 23 and just be short of s couple of replacement props. This would both make selection straightforward and give lots of fringe players their opportunity. 1. Botterman, 2. Atkin Davies, 3 Bern, 4. Ward, 5. Talling, 6 Feaunati, 7. Kabeya, 8. Burton, 9. Packer, 10. Aitchison, 11.MacDonald, 12. Rowland, 13. Jones, 14. Dow, Kildunne, 15. Kildunne Replacements: 2 Props, Cokayne, Ives Campion, Fray, Robinson, Scarratt, Sheckells

Ian. 19 Mar 2025

John Mitchell spoke at the 6N launch event about how he wants to see "different combinations"- that has got to mean that he won't pick the same back-line 4 games in a row. Not least of which, what would happen were 1 of his 1st choice get injured? Yes, Breach, Killdunne and Dow might be the 1st choice back three, but let's see Venner and Sing playing. As for the centres... Heard and Jones appear, on form, to be the 1st choices, but Rowland offers something different at inside as does Scarratt at outside; hopefully again we'll see those combinations playing together for extended periods. At least in the forwards there's more room for substitutions and switching, but competition is going to be so tough- it could all come down to how people are playing in camp

Bruce Perkins. 16 Jan 2025

Thanks very much for your response, Wendy. Your contributions to American rugby are invaluable. My doubts remain: wouldn’t it have been more sensible to launch WER when it was fully structured, fully populated? Is it wise to start it off at half-bore like this?

Wendy Young. 15 Jan 2025

"Ideally the WER should include every Eagle now attached to an overseas club; many seem loath to return home." The launch of the WER is certainly exciting, but it’s unrealistic to assume Eagles currently playing overseas would rush back for it right away. In leagues like the PWR, they’re competing at the highest level alongside English, Welsh, Scottish, French, and Canadian internationals, which offers unparalleled development opportunities. While the WER has immense potential and will likely become a prime destination for future Eagles, expecting that level of draw in its first year feels overly ambitious. Growth takes time, and so will building its reputation as a global hub for top talent.

Alistair Gorthy. 13 Oct 2024

The French coaching team seem hellbent on taking les Blues backwards. Gaelle Hermet and Morgane Bourgeois (examples of much needed experience and guidance, and proven youth) left at home. The only the top team not consistently choosing its best players to start each match. One wonders what such a policy does for player morale, especially youngsters thrown in at the deep end.
