Italy v South Africa – Round 2

Two head coaches make plentiful changes Nanni Raineri has made sweeping changes to the side that faces the Boks in Cape Town on Friday. With the withdrawal from action of the skipper, Sofia Stefan, Beatice Rigoni assumes the captaincy. She may well have held that honour before, but if so, I don’t recall it. In

WXV 2 – Scotland v South Africa

The sides had met four times in the 2010s, twice in Scotland, twice in South Africa. Curiously, all four resulted in away wins. In the run-up to WXV the Boks played lots of warm-ups, Scotland very few. We would see which approach was sensible. For much of the first half the Bok pack controlled events.

A Walkover and a Sleep-Walk

The two matches that completed the group stages of the T20 World Cup could scarcely have been more contrasting. England pushed Pakistan aside with the minimum effort. South Africa kept their large vociferous audience on tenterhooks before returning what looks on paper like a romp. It was far from it. England-Pakistan Jon Lewis answered his
