The Red Roses beat the Black Ferns

England Women finished the International Women’s Rugby Series undefeated after overcoming the Black Ferns 21-29 in Rotorua on Saturday. Tries from Emily Scarratt, Abbie Scott, Lydia Thompson, Marlie Packer and Vicky Fleetwood held off a determined Black Ferns who led 14-7 after 30 minutes to give England their first away win to New Zealand since 2001.

Huge win for the Red Roses in tour opener

England got their 2017 International Women’s Rugby Series campaign off to a winning start with a 53-10 victory over Australia at Porirua Park, New Zealand. Wing Sarah McKenna scored a hat-trick of tries while Izzy Noel-Smith, Abbie Scott, Kay Wilson (two), Vicky Fleetwood and Harriet Millar-Mills also went over, with Emily Scott adding four conversions.
