Manchester Thunder have signed young England player Natalie Haythornthwaite. The 22-year-old will make the switch across the Pennines from Roses rivals Yorkshire Jets for the 2016 season. England took the 2015 Netball Europe trophy this afternoon but were made to work for their win following a spirited display from the host nation. Northern Ireland took a surprising early lead at the end of the first quarter but were eventually outclassed as England triumphed 64-22 to regain the title they last held in 2012.

Netball star Peace Proscovia extends her Loughborough stay

Loughborough University has announced that Ugandan netball star Peace Proscovia will be a Loughborough Lightning player for the next two seasons.   Proscovia, who is the first Ugandan to play professional netball in the UK, has signed onto a two year Masters course, which will see her combine sport with academia like many of her teammates.

Team Bath end-of-season Awards
