  • +1

Middlesex women vs Derbyshire Falcons women (match 28, league two) at Northwood, Merchant Taylors’ School Ground (Greater London) on Saturday  9 August 2025 (10h30)

Middlesex women stay top-of-table, unbeaten and assured of a ‘top-four finish’ to qualify for the semi-finals, with a convincing eight wickets win over Falcons women. Falcons lost their first wicket from the first ball of the match, with four ‘ducks’ and only two batters reaching  double-figures. Middlesex women’s ‘off-break’ bowler Anaya Patel took a 4-fer (4 wickets/conceding 17 runs) and told interviewer that it was ‘her best season ever’ – please see interview below. Turning to Middlesex womens’ reply, openers Issy Routledge  [38*not out(28)] carried her bat, partnered by Natasha Miles 30(from 30) who chalked-up their ‘fifty’ opening partnership. Separately, before the match, Natasha Miles had announced that she’d retired after 15 years playing for Middx women – please see interview below. Finally, Issy Routledge scored the winning ‘four’ also bagging an incidental bonus point for Middlesex women winning by a wide margin: within the allotted first ten overs of their ’power-play.’
