Harlequins have confirmed that GB Sevens and Red Roses wing Heather Cowell has signed a new contract with the Club.

The 27-year-old, who grew up locally in Twickenham, joined Quins from Worcester Warriors ahead of the 2018/19 season and has achieved 66 appearances for the Club. The speedster enjoyed a standout season in her debut season scoring 20 tries, before helping Quins secure the Allianz Premier 15s title in 2020/21, overcoming Saracens 25-17 in the Final.

After showcasing her talent for Quins and England Sevens, Cowell was called-up to the Red Roses squad in October 2021, achieving her Test debut against Canada at The Stoop. Commenting on her new contract, Cowell said: “I’m thrilled to sign a new contract with Quins. I’ve loved my time at the Club and it’s exciting to be part of such a talented group of players. We’ve got a bright future and I’m determined to help Quins get back to where we belong.”

Harlequins Women Attack and Transition Coach Ross Chisholm, added: “We’re really pleased to have Heather remaining in Quins colours. She’s a highly experienced player and someone who leads from the front with her excellent attacking game, lethal speed and versatility. We’re delighted she’s remaining in Quins colours and we’re looking forward to seeing her back out on The Stoop.”
