Harlequins have confirmed Tove Viksten will leave the Club following Saturday’s fixture against Saracens Women.

Sweden international prop Tove Viksten joined Harlequins for the 2016/17 season. Viksten has made 66 appearances for the Club and featured in Harlequins’ title-clinching 2020/21 Allianz Premier 15s final against Saracens.

A seasoned international, Tove Viksten has represented Sweden in both Sevens and 15’s, captaining the latter.

Commenting on her departure, Viksten said “I feel so privileged to have been a part of Quins for so long and see the program develop from 2017 until now. I have had the opportunity to play at Twickenham Stadium as well as winning the Premier 15s, which alongside my international career for Sweden has meant everything to me.

“I’d also like to say thank you to all the people who have supported me throughout the years, all the fans in the stands, family and friends. The support is so important both for me as a player but also for the development of the program.

“I will be in the stands cheering the girls on, and I am very excited to see how Amy and Brent will develop the program further.”

Harlequins Head Coach Amy Turner heralded Viksten as a “true legend of the Club whose presence both on and off the field will be missed.

“Tove has been fantastic for us since she joined in 2017, and is one of the most capped players in this group. I was fortunate enough to see her start her playing career whilst still playing and have spent some time coaching her, she’s remained a hugely physical presence in the front row. We wish her all the best in her next chapter.”
