After securing a home win against Worcester for the first game of 2021, Wasps head north in round 12 to face DMP Durham Sharks.
Last weekend Wasps secured a six try win over a strong Worcester Warriors side. Muir, Crake, Williams, Dow, Quansah and Mitchelson all added to the points board, along with Jones converting 5 out of 6 of those tries.
In their last meeting with DMP Durham Sharks, Wasps put 105 points on the Northern side and Mather has named a team who will be looking for a repeat performance this weekend. There are 5 changes to the starting lineup this weekend.
In the forwards West and Stock come off the bench to start in the front row and we see Balogun return to the field in the second row alongside Cooney. Muir joins Ironton and Ransley as front row replacements.
There is also some rotation amongst the backs- Williams moves into the starting 10 shirt and Mason moves into 15. Dow and Jones will start on the bench this week ready to fuel the later stages of the game.
The team have been training hard this week, despite the frosty London conditions- though rumours have it that this will have served as good acclimatisation to the North!
In line with RFU and Government guidelines this fixture will be played behind closed doors so be sure to keep up to date with all the match activity via our social media channels in the warmth and comfort of your sofa. We, on the other hand, will be packing the thermals.
