The All-Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group has wished all participating teams well ahead of the double-header Women’s Challenge Shield and Challenge Cup Finals this weekend (Saturday 4 August).
The finals will be held at the Halliwell Jones stadium, home of Warrington Wolves, as part of the RFL’s ongoing campaign in partnership with clubs, Foundations and the media to grow the women’s game and inspire more women and girls to play rugby league.
Bradford Bulls and Stanningley contest the Challenge Shield, before Castleford Tigers face Leeds Rhinos for the Challenge Cup.
All-Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group Chair and Member of Parliament for Bradford South, Judith Cummins MP, said “I wish all taking part the very best for the Women’s Challenge Shield and Challenge Cup Finals this weekend.
“Women’s rugby league has experienced rapid growth in the past few years, and I hope that even more women and girls will be inspired to take part in the sport in the future.
“The All-Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group is committed to supporting the development of the women’s game, and I look forward to continuing to work with the Rugby Football League and stakeholders from across the sport at this exciting time for women’s rugby league.”
The games will be streamed live on BBC Sport and the RFL’s OURLEAGUE app.
