West Country law firm Mogers Drewett, has signed a one year agreement to become Team Bath Netball’s education partner.

As its key education partner, Mogers Drewett will fund a number of school workshops where members of Team Bath Netball visit local schools to run education sessions covering healthy lifestyles, nutritional hints and tips, and to practise netball skills. The firm also plans to organise a corporate netball tournament with Team Bath Netball to raise funds for a local charity early in 2017.

Historically, Mogers Drewett has supported a number of sporting initiatives and organisations, and for the last two years has been a key partner of the Pentathlon GB team. The firm also employs England international netball player Eboni Beckford-Chambers, who joined the firm earlier this year as a Legal Assistant and from September will start a trainee solicitor programme in the Dispute Resolution team, and is her main shirt player sponsor.

Steven Treharne, Managing Director of Mogers Drewett said “We are very pleased to be able to offer an education programme in partnership with Team Bath Netball. As a business we have a policy of funding local initiatives that promote active and healthy lifestyles within the communities in which we operate, and this project is a great example of how we do that in practice. Netball is a fun, inclusive sport that has a growing following, and we are sure the education programmes will be popular with the school children.”

University of Bath Deputy Director of Sport, Greg Sharp, said:  “For Team Bath, taking a message about healthy lifestyles into schools is hugely important to us and we are delighted to team up with Mogers Drewett to achieve this.  Our netballers are amongst the best in the world and we hope to inspire another generation through this initiative”.

England international Eboni Beckford-Chambers, who captained Team Bath during the 2016 Superleague season and works for Mogers Drewett said: “Working here and seeing at first hand how they have embraced netball, it is fantastic to have Mogers Drewett on board as education partner.

“There is a great alignment of the Mogers Drewett and Team Bath Netball brands – both celebrate excellence and inclusivity, and both have very positive environments. I could not have asked for more than the support that Mogers Drewett have given me, both as an athlete and in my professional career, and it is great to see them supporting other female athletes in Bath.”
