Harlequins Women have confirmed the arrival of exciting young back Eva Sterritt.
The talented youngster, who can play on the wing or at centre arrives having been part of the Exeter Chiefs U23s squad, whilst also captaining Exeter University’s BUCS Super Rugby side, as they reached the semi-finals.
Sterritt has represented Ireland at age-grade level but is an English Qualified Player.
She also represented England Students last weekend against the UK Armed Forces, captaining the side and scoring four tries.
A prodigious sporting talent, Sterritt also excelled in Gaelic Football and hockey in her youth, before prioritising rugby.
Sterritt has a natural ability to find space across the park, with plenty of power in her game to boot.
Her arrival at Harlequins also continues to show the strength of BUCS Super Rugby in developing players to make the step up to the elite game.
Speaking after her move to West London was confirmed, Sterritt said: “Moving over from Ireland, the goal was always to play at the highest level possible, and signing with Harlequins feels like exactly where I’m meant to be.”
“The culture and ambition within the squad feels like the perfect fit for me. You can feel that this squad is building toward something really special right now and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
Head Coach Ross Chisholm added: “Eva is a hugely exciting young talent. We’ve seen in her performances for Exeter University how dangerous she is with ball in hand and how much potential she has. Eva has a natural eye for the try line and has the ability to find space in attack, as well as being a player that puts in the work off the ball.”
