Harlequins Women have confirmed that Rugby World Cup winner Rosie Galligan will return to the Club ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Galligan returns to West London from Saracens, having previously played for the Club between 2021-2023 and made 30 appearances.
Since last pulling on the quarters, Galligan has gone on to win two Six Nations titles and the 2025 Rugby World Cup with the Red Roses. The second row has won a total of four Six Nations titles during her career, as well as two Premier15s titles.
Galligan made her Red Roses debut in 2019 against Ireland and has since gone on to earn 33 caps for her country.
Galligan’s return to West London is another major signing for Harlequins Women. She is a world-class lineout operator, who will bring calmness and leadership to the set-piece, as Ross Chisholm strengthens his squad ahead of next season.
Speaking about returning to Harlequins, Galligan said: “I’d always thought that I’d be back at some point, and it just feels right. I absolutely love what Ross is about. I think he brings great charisma and culture to the team and is a phenomenal coach.
“I’m also really excited to work with Damian Welch as a forwards coach. He’s got some quality attributes I’d really like to learn from.”
Galligan is also due to welcome her first child in the coming months and credited the Club for the support she has received on her journey.
“It’s obviously a really daunting process. Having a baby is such a special feeling but I was a bit nervous telling the Club. Laurie (Dalrymple), Pat (Metcalfe-Jones) and Ross have been so positive and so supportive, which has taken so much pressure off me.
“They know I’m a motivated person, and they know that I want to get back and achieve lots of big things with this Club. Their support is really special.”
Head Coach Ross Chisholm added: “We’re really pleased to welcome Rosie back to The Stoop. Since she last wore a Harlequins jersey, she has taken her game to another level and become not just a World Cup winner, but a truly world-class second row.
“We’re also delighted to be a part of her journey as she prepares to become a mum for the first time and know that she is going to bring a huge amount of value and rugby IQ to our programme.
“Off the field, she is a player that will drive standards within the environment and on the field, she is a player that I know will give everything she has for the shirt. I’m really excited to see Rosie back wearing the quarters.”
