- British number five Abigail Tordoff claims second LTA Padel British Tour title of 2025 at Rocket Padel Ilford
- Second seeds Tordoff and partner Ainhoa Rico from Spain defeated third seeds Laura Jackson and Rosie Quirk
- Louie Harris and Chris Salisbury finish runners-up in men’s draw
Abigail Tordoff claimed her second LTA Padel British Tour title of the year at Rocket Padel Ilford, as she and Spanish partner Ainhoa Rico claimed the women’s doubles crown at the final LTA Padel British Tour event of 2025.
The second seeds, playing their first event together, dominated their opponents throughout the weekend, reaching the final without dropping a set. Their opponents in Sunday’s final, British number eight Laura Jackson and recent LTA Padel National Championships 18U girls doubles winner Rosie Quirk, pulled off a big upset to reach the decider after beating number one seeds Chloe De La Mare and British number one and world number 82. However, Jackson and Quirk could not pull off a repeat of their semi-final heroics, as Tordoff and Rico maintained their dominant tournament right to the end, securing the title with no sets dropped with a 6-1 6-2 win.
After the final, Tordoff said, “It’s been a fantastic experience for both of us, we’ve loved playing at Rocket Padel. Kris Dymond and the LTA have done a fantastic job, and it’s nice to get a win.”
In the men’s doubles draw, the all-British pair of Louie Harris and Chris Salisbury fell just short of rounding off their 2025 with a title, losing out in the final to the all-Spanish number one seeds Josep Aymerich Bellmunt and Victor Tur Checo 6-2 6-3. The Spaniards barely put a foot wrong all weekend, with the five games won by Harris and Salisbury in Sunday’s final the most any opponent took off the number one seeds through the draw.
The competition at Rocket Padel Ilford was the eighth and final LTA Grade 1 event of 2025 to take place across England, Scotland, and the Channel Islands as part of the LTA Padel British Tour. The events see the very best British and international players compete in standout events, across full weekends, for prize money.
“It’s been a fantastic weekend of padel at Rocket Padel Ilford. The standard of play we saw throughout the Grade 1 event was outstanding and a real reflection of how quickly padel is developing in Britain. The players delivered an incredibly high level of competition, and just as impressive was the support from the local community – the courts were alive with spectators across the entire weekend, creating an atmosphere that shows how strong and passionate the padel scene is becoming. We’re proud to host events like this and to play a part in pushing the sport forward.”
Spectators can watch back on the action and view exclusive player interviews on Padel TV.
