England Netball and The British Red Cross Join Forces to Support Relief Efforts at Vitality Netball Horizon Series
England Netball is proud to announce a new collaboration with The British Red Cross for the upcoming Vitality Netball Horizon Series, where the Vitality Roses will face the Jamaican Sunshine Girls in two matches at the Copper Box Arena in London.
Fans will be able to contribute to the British Red Cross’ Disaster Fund, supporting people affected by crises in the UK and around the world. Donations will help the British Red Cross respond swiftly with vital humanitarian assistance wherever it is needed most. British Red Cross volunteers will be in the arena throughout the weekend to offer information and collect donations whist fans watching from home will be able to donate online.
As part of England Netball’s commitment to driving positive change for women and girls, their partner Here We Flo will also donate female health packs to the British Red Cross Hackney Destitution Centre. These packs will offer important support to women and girls in vulnerable circumstances, ensuring their needs are met during times of crisis.
Fran Connolly, CEO of England Netball, said: “Netball has always been a sport that brings communities together, and we are proud to harness that spirit to support those who need it most. By partnering with The British Red Cross at our international fixtures and working alongside Here We Flo to create further impact, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to vital relief efforts. We know the Netball Family will rally behind this important cause.”
Valentina Ugolini, Head of Regional Fundraising and Events, added; “At the British Red Cross, we know disasters can strike anywhere, at any time. The recent hurricane in Jamaica is a powerful reminder of how vital early action and emergency response are. So far, £560,000 has been allocated from our Disaster Fund to support the response to Hurricane Melissa on the ground. The Jamaica Red Cross has mobilised 400 volunteers, opened shelters, and delivered life-saving supplies to communities most at risk.
“We’re proud to partner with England Netball and deeply grateful for their support of our Disaster Fund. It’s communities like yours that make it possible for us to provide urgent humanitarian assistance wherever it’s needed most. Every donation truly makes a difference.”
This effort builds on England Netball’s recent Horizon announcement on ticket sales, which confirmed that a portion of revenue from the Series will go towards supporting communities impacted by Hurricane Melissa. Through this collaboration, every ticket purchased and every donation made will contribute to vital relief efforts for women, girls, and families affected by the disaster.
With thanks to England Netball
