Harlequins Women have confirmed the arrival of Fijian international back-row Manuqalo Komaitai ahead of the start of the 2025/26 PWR season.
Komaitai arrives having represented Fiji at the Rugby World Cup, making three appearances and scoring against Scotland.
A powerful and exciting back-row, Komaitai first picked up the sport in 2021, having initially played netball back in Fiji.
After picking up the game initially as a winger, she converted to the back-row before going on to win international honours for the first time earlier this year.
Off the field, Komaitai serves for the British Army in the Irish Guards (who are currently celebrating their 125th year since formation) and has also represented the Army on the rugby field in the Army vs Navy fixture, lining up with current Quins stars Jade Mullen and Lauren Brooks.
Head Coach Ross Chisholm is delighted to confirm the arrival of Komaitai to TW2. “We’re really pleased to welcome Manuqalo to The Stoop this season. She is a powerful presence in the back-row and will add a different dynamic to our pack. I’m excited to see her join up with the squad and show what she can do in the Quarters this season.”
Komaitai is similarly pleased to be joining Quins. “I’m really happy to be joining Harlequins this season. Having spoken to Ross, I really feel like this is an environment that I can flourish in. I already know players like Sarah Bonar, Jade Mullen, Orla Proctor and Lauren Brooks through the Armed Forces, and I am now really looking forward to meeting the rest of the squad. This feels like a place where I can really develop my game and I’m excited to get going.”
