Harlequins Women have announced that young forward Tyla Shirley has committed her future to the Club.

England U20 international Shirley has made a huge impression so far during her time at the Club, starting in the PWR semi-final against Saracens, before being called up into the Red Roses training squad ahead of the 2025 Guinness Women’s Six Nations.

With the ability to play in the second-row or back-row, Shirley has also spent time duel-registered with Richmond this season in the Championship South, helping them to a second-place finish, as she has continued to develop her game.

After a season of huge development, Shirley cannot wait to continue her progression in a Harlequins shirt.  “The best part of the season for me was getting to start in the semi-final. The girls and coaching staff have been a great support and helped me grow as a player. I’m looking forward to coming back stronger and building on everything I’ve learnt this season. The coaching team have given me so many opportunities this season to develop and progress which has really helped my game. The culture here is brilliant to be a part of and I’m excited for next season.”

Head Coach Ross Chisholm is also enthused about retaining the services of Shirley in TW2.  “Tyla is a young up and coming talent who we have been so impressed with this year. She really deserved her opportunity to start in the semi-final and has continued to develop her game. She is extremely physical and abrasive, especially in her collision work and is someone that we are really excited about for the coming years.”

With thanks to Harlequins
