Four PWR matches confirmed for BBC Sport’s ‘Race to the Final’

Premiership Women’s Rugby has today confirmed that ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup and Women’s Six Nations, BBC Sport has secured a deal to broadcast four matches, including the PWR final on 16 March. The matches will be live on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and app, as well as being broadcast live on TNT Sports.

BBC Sport’s coverage of PWR kicks off on 14 February when Harlequins take on Bristol Bears with every game crucial in the race to the final.

Darren Hanley, PWR Head of Marketing said: “This year presents women’s rugby with a unique opportunity to accelerate our growth and we are delighted to have broadcast partners like the BBC and TNT Sports to help us take the sport to new audiences.

“When the RWC kicks off this August a big proportion of the athletes involved will also be PWR players and this is a great opportunity for a huge TV audience to get to know these brilliant role models.”

The Premiership Women’s Rugby matches on BBC Sport and simulcast on TNT Sports are:

Harlequins v Bristol – 14 February, 7.45pm
Gloucester-Hartpury v Harlequins – 21 February, 7.45pm
One of the semi-finals (Choice TBC)
PWR Final – 16 March, 3pm
