  • +1

Archery fans will have the opportunity to try their hand at the Olympic sport and meet Team GB archers at the official Team GB fanzone at Kings Cross between Saturday 3 and Tuesday 6 August.

The free-to-enter fanzone has been screening the action of the Games since they started, but all eyes will be set on archery when the have-a-go session opens on Saturday 3 August as fans await the return of their favorite GB archers who will pass through on Tuesday 6 August.

Over the four days, attendees can expect live music, onstage entertainment, chances to meet returning athletes and opportunities to have a shot at archery using soft archery kits and knock-down targets. It’s a fantastic opportunity, not only for people to experience the buzz of the Olympics on UK soil, but to give people of all ages and abilities the chance to try archery for the first time.

The have-a-go event will run over the four days from 12:00pm to 10:00pm delivered with the help of over 40 passionate archery volunteers. Plus on Monday 5 August, Team GB’s archery coaches will be on hand to help children and adults alike to unleash their inner archer and feel part of the Games in what has been the ultimate summer of sport.

Gayle Pink, Head of Participation at Archery GB, said: “Whether you’ve tried archery before or not, we want to encourage as many people as possible to come down to Kings Cross and get involved. It’s set to be an exciting and truly interactive few days with lots going on so come along and soak up the atmosphere. Archery is a sport for everyone, and this is the perfect opportunity to showcase everything it has to offer.

The big screens will mean you can watch Team GB battling it out for medals, including the archers, and you might even get the chance to celebrate their hard work and welcome athletes home as Olympians.”

The Team GB fanzone is located at Lewis Cubitt Square, 11 Stable Street, King’s Cross, London and is entirely wheelchair accessible, ensuring everyone gets to share in the Olympic experience.
