Team Bath Netball seek reward for improved performances

  • +1

Team Bath Netball go into their last two home matches of the 2024 Super League campaign determined to “keep reinforcing the positives” as they look to gain some reward for their improving performances.

Wins have proved elusive for the youthful Blue & Gold squad since the opening weekend but they have been much improved collectively and individually, particularly during the second half of the season when they have been right in contention for long periods of games.

That was the case once again at Leeds Rhinos on Friday as a fiercely-competitive first half ended with Team Bath only trailing by six goals. However, a slow start to the third quarter allowed the play-off chasing hosts to pull away and, despite the final quarter being deadlocked, they went on to win 65-50.

“It was a real shame as the rest of the game, other than that period just after half-time, was really positive,” said Team Bath Netball Head Coach Asha Francis, whose side entertain table-topping Manchester Thunder on Friday 24th May and Strathclyde Sirens on Friday 31st May (centre-pass 7.30pm).

“We have produced some exceptional quarters and passages of play this season and it’s my job as a coach to keep reinforcing the positives, keep reminding the players we have it within us and also work to deliver those moments more consistently, more often and for longer.

“What we are striving for now is signs of improvement and the second half of the season has definitely shown that. We have shown real progress, as individuals and collectively, and we’ll keep on working to get our reward.”

Tickets are available for both matches, with the Sirens game being preceded by an end-of-season pizza party. Visit netball.teambath.com/tickets to purchase.

Team Bath Netball is supported by Bath Building Society and Rengen Developments, who are both overall Team Bath Partners. Flyhawk supply Team Bath’s performance clothing and off-court apparel.
