Harlequins Women’s Head Coach Amy Turner has named her side to face Loughborough Lightning at The Stoop on Sunday 5 February.
In the forwards, Chloe Edwards is set to make her 100th appearance for the Club, the first Women’s player in Harlequins history to reach that milestone. Co-captain Amy Cokayne and prop Hannah Sims join centurion Edwards to complete the front row.
Wallaroo lock Kaitlan Leaney lines up alongside England international Rosie Galligan in the engine room, and the familiar trio of Mew, Robinson and Konkel-Roberts make up Harlequins’ back row.
In the backs, Emma Swords starts at scrum half, linking up with co-captain Emily Scott at fly half. Bella McKenzie shifts to inside centre, providing a second kicking and distribution option in the midfield. After her hot-stepping display last week against DMP Sharks, Lagi Tuima lines up at outside centre.
Fresh from her four tries last weekend, Ella Amory starts on the right wing, with England pair Ellie Kildunne at fullback and Abby Dow on the left wing.
Turner names an experienced set of Impact Players, as internationals Sarah Bonar, Lenaig Corson, Emily Chancellor and Lucy Packer will look to bring their experience to the field as the game progresses.
Amy Turner said “Loughborough are an incredibly well organised team, they’re aggressive and tenacious in their defence, so from an attack point of view we’re going to have to work hard to get go forward first, and then try to create opportunities where we can put the ball into the right areas with our speedsters.
“Chloe Edwards is an incredibly hard-working individual who balances an awful lot on and off the pitch. She knows her role inside out as a rugby player, she’s a good human being and I’m really pleased to see here get her 100th cap on Sunday.”
Harlequins face Loughborough Lightning at The Stoop on Sunday afternoon, kick off is 14:30.
