Harlequins can confirm the signing of loosehead prop Hannah Sims from Bristol Bears with immediate effect.

Aged 11, Sims’ rugby journey began at Gosport & Fareham RFC, before moving to Basingstoke RFC to play girls rugby.

Her time in the Allianz Premier 15s started with Wasps, where she became one of the youngest players to make 50 appearances for the Club.

Sims joined Bristol Bears ahead of the 2021/22 Allianz Premier 15s season and finished the year as top try scorer at the Club, however suffered a narrow defeat to Exeter Chiefs in the semi-final.

Commenting on her signing, Hannah Sims said: “It’s great to be joining a club with such exciting rugby in its DNA and a very strong set piece. I’m looking forward to following in the footsteps of some great props and working under Amy and Brent.

“I really enjoyed the Big Little Game at The Stoop on the 27th December, it’s such a great stadium with an even better fanbase. I can’t wait to pull on the Quarters and run out there for the first time as a Quin”.

Harlequins Head Coach Amy Turner said “Hannah is a fantastic addition to our playing group. She provides a really strong set piece and bolsters our front row contingent.

“She’s a great person and fits well with the culture we’re building around the Women’s programme. We’re all really looking forward to having Hannah link up with the squad and can’t wait to see what she can bring in a Quins jersey”.

With thanks to Harlequins
