Harlequins has announced that England international Bryony Cleall has signed for the Club ahead of the start of the 2022/23 Allianz Premier 15s season.

Cleall, 30, joins Harlequins from Wasps Women, having also previously represented Premier 15s sides Saracens Women and Bristol Bears Women.

The 4-times-capped prop bolsters Harlequins’ front row options for what is set to be one of the most fiercely contested Premier 15s seasons since the league’s inception.

Born in Norwich, the 6ft prop is twin sister of fellow England international and Saracens Women’s backrow Poppy Cleall, having previously played alongside her sister for Saracens.

Commenting, Harlequins Women’s Head Coach Amy Turner said: “We are delighted we were able have Bryony join Harlequins. She is a good quality international player and will add massive value to the squad.

“Bryony has huge experience both internationally and within the Premier 15s, we look forward to her making an impact in the shirt.”

Cleall said: “I’m very excited to sign with Harlequins. This is one of the leading clubs within the Women’s game and I’m excited to get stuck into and be involved in such a comprehensive performance set-up.

“Having had the chance to play against Quins for both Saracens and Wasps, I have huge respect for this Club and am looking forward to pulling on the Famous Quartered jersey for the first time.”

With thanks to Harlequins
