After a tough start to the Allianz Cup against Loughborough Lightning, Head Coach LJ Lewis names her squad to take on Sale Sharks at Heywood Park in Round Two. The first away trip this term gives the squad an opportunity to bounce back.
After an impressive eight new signings involved last week Lewis has made seven changes to the side that took on Loughborough. Changes include Andrea Stock, Ciara Cooney, Skya Pinnock. Hannah Edwards, Tess Braunerova and Sian McGuinness who all come into the Starting XV. With Alex Wilkinson missing out this sees Polly Roberts move from the left wing into scrum half.
Led by captain Elizabeth Crake, she is joined by Alana Bainbridge fresh from an impressive debut and Andrea Stock who completes the front row. They are joined by experience in the row with Rowena Burnfield and Ciara Cooney. A dynamic back row is made up of Helene Caux, Shya Pinnock and Lenaig Corson.
The Backs are made up of a half back pairing of Polly Roberts and Hannah Edwards who look to make their mark on the campaign against Sharks. Centres see Ellie Lennon and Molly Saunders build on brave performances from Loughborough and back three sees Amy Layzell move onto the right wing in Suzie Flowers’ absence with Tess Braunerova on the left. Sian McGuinness moves into full back for her first start of the season.
Allianz Cup Pool A saw wins for both Bristol Bears and Loughborough Lightning in Round One, while Saracens were on a bye week. Round Two sees Loughborough Lightning on a bye week while Saracens take on Bristol Bears in the other game in the Pool.
